For millennia, cultures across the globe have harnessed the power of psychedelics for healing and spiritual insight. These substances create altered states of consciousness where the boundaries of self dissolve, revealing profound experiences of unity and encounters with fundamental truths.

Once banned after a mid-twentieth-century rediscovery, psychedelics are now undergoing a promising clinical renaissance, showing potential in treating depression, PTSD, and addiction. While neuroscience maps the brain’s activity during these experiences, it often overlooks the transformative nature of these insights.

Join us for a thought-provoking lecture hosted by Tiago Faleiro, a PhD candidate at GCAS, who is developing a philosophical framework to better understand the psychedelic experience and support long term integration. He will challenge us to engage with the deeper questions surrounding these experiences: Can we trust the insights they offer?
