V ciklu Urban Tribe, kjer se glasbe sveta srečajo z Ljubljano, tokrat gostimo umetnika, ki v svojem glasu nosi celo celino.
Seydou Yoni Kouyate prihaja s Slonokoščene obale, iz družine, kjer so pesem, ples in ritem način bivanja. Kot samouk je mojstrstvo na kori (21-strунski zahodnoafriški harfi), klaviaturah in tolkalih osvojil na ulici, kjer je pri štirinajstih začrtal svojo pot.

Pot ga je vodila čez Afriko, Evropo in Latinsko Ameriko, kjer je izoblikoval svoj edinstven izraz. To je glas, ki zna šepetati in goreti; ritem, ki strese prostor; in melodija, ki zveni starodavno, a hkrati povsem današnje.

Večer za tiste, ki iščejo glasbo, ki ogreje, premakne in poveže – brez prevodov in filtrov, zgolj s silovito, neposredno človeško energijo.

In the Urban Tribe concert series, where the music of the world meets Ljubljana, we welcome an artist who carries an entire continent in his voice.

Seydou Yoni Kouyate comes from Côte d’Ivoire, from a family where song, dance and rhythm are a way of living. A self-taught musician, he learned the kora (the 21-string West African harp), keyboards and percussion on the streets, where he began shaping his path at fourteen.

His journey took him across Africa, Europe and Latin America, forming a sound that is entirely his own. A voice that can whisper or burn, a rhythm that shakes the room, a melody that feels ancient and completely present at the same time.

A night for those who seek music that warms, moves and connects.
